Tom Moores says Notts Outlaws are enjoying their “time in the sun” as he seeks to help propel the side to a sixth consecutive Vitality Blast win when Lancashire Lightning visit Trent Bridge tomorrow (6:30pm).

“We feel like we’re a very tough side to beat in any format now,” affirmed Moores. “We’ve got some unbelievable players, and I think everyone at the club has belief now.

“There’s a great vibe to our play, and I think when you get that, you want to try and hold on to it and keep it going.”

Wicketkeeper-batter Moores retains his place in a 15-strong squad for the Sky Sports-televised visit of the Red Rose.

Joe Pocklington returns as the sole addition from the group that thrashed Leicestershire Foxes by a record margin at Uptonsteel Grace Road last weekend.

“The main thing is just backing each other’s skills and ability,” continued Moores, when asked about the driving forces behind the Outlaws’ recent purple patch.

“When you get the vibe, you get the vibe, but it’s as cliché as it sounds! We’re always trying to be aggressive and take the positive option.

“It’s natural that you’ve got one eye on the future, trying to calculate how many wins we need for a home quarter-final, but we want to try and not get too far ahead of ourselves.

“We’ve been a successful white-ball club ever since I started, when it was almost a non-negotiable that we’d get a quarter-final, so this time now is nice.”

Moores is keen to see the Outlaws continue that confidence and positivity against Lancashire, whom he acknowledges have players who are capable of causing damage.

“It’ll be a good game,” he agreed. “Lancashire are a tough side, a big club who pride themselves on T20 cricket.

“They’ve got players like Liam Livingstone, and the whole world’s seen what he can do, so I think we should be set for a good game.”

However dangerous tomorrow’s opponents can be, Moores is confident the Outlaws, on a five-match winning streak, are capable of matching them.

“I think the beauty of our side, though, is that we’re adaptable to any sort of surface, and we’ve got all bases covered.

“I think that whatever Lancashire have got for us, we’ve probably got one better!”
