Calvin Harrison’s three wickets were not enough to stop Nottinghamshire 2nd XI falling to a four-wicket defeat in their friendly away to Loughborough UCCE.

With the hosts needing to chase down 141 to win on the final day, Harrison at one point put the match in the balance with two in two overs to reduce Loughborough to 85-4.

Brett Hutton, Rob Lord, and Liam Patterson-White all picked up one further wicket each, but home captain Oliver Meadows made 47 to underpin the chase.

Despite eventually becoming Harrison’s third scalp, Meadows had led his side to just nine runs short of parity when finally removed via a Francis Moore catch.

The conclusion took less than two further overs to arrive, as Tom Hinley struck 14 from just six balls to see the hosts over the line in the early afternoon.
