As Nottinghamshire get set for round two of Rothesay County Championship action in 2025, we are again offering you the chance to put your knowledge to the test.
Before every round of fixtures in this year’s Championship, you will be challenged to name a Green and Gold line-up from a memorable game against each 2025 opponent.
Ahead of the visit of Essex to Trent Bridge, it's a thumping victory at Chelmsford, home of the then-defending champions, from June 2018.

Good-natured opener who spent three seasons with Nottinghamshire at the end of his career, following a 15-year spell with his home county of Sussex.

Bona fide all-round Nottinghamshire legend who spent over two decades in Green and Gold, as well as winning 60 all-format England caps, before departing at the end of the 2023 season.

Classy New Zealander, blessed with a deeply pleasing technique that left cricket purists purring, who played 112 Tests for his country and scored over 7,000 runs.
5. Left-handed batter
Elder brother of an established member of England’s Test line-up who began his career in Green and Gold before moving on to another county in the winter following the 2018 season.
6. Right-handed batter
Australian-born son of a dual-national father, who represented Nottinghamshire between 2011 and 2018 and is one of only four men to score a century in all three formats for the Green and Golds.
7. Left-handed batter, wicket-keeper
Globetrotting gloveman with lightning-fast hands who recently signed a white-ball only contract with Nottinghamshire.
8. Right-arm medium-fast bowler
A larger-than-life, unerringly popular stalwart seam bowler who retired in 2024 after 17 seasons with Nottinghamshire.
9. Right-arm off-spinner
Tall spinner who became better-known for his white-ball exploits but still claimed 54 First-Class wickets for Nottinghamshire, before moving on following the 2023 season.
10. Right-arm fast-medium bowler
A Nottingham-born, West Bridgford-educated seamer who began his career with the Green and Golds before moving to Kent prior to the 2019 season.
11. Left-arm medium-fast bowler
Death-overs specialist in white-ball cricket who retired after the 2019 season following eight seasons with Notts and 12 England caps, and who now runs a pub company with Stuart Broad.
