Kyle Verreynne admitted the match situation made his second Trent Bridge ton all the more sweet as he led a Notts fightback against Essex on day one.
The South Africa international reached stumps unbeaten on 111, and maintained that a calm head was key as the hosts recovered from 78/5 to reach 328/8 at stumps.
