Brett Hutton took six wickets as Notts Outlaws picked up back-to-back wins in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, beating Yorkshire Vikings by 84 runs at the John Fretwell Centre.

After an impressive fightback with the bat which saw Lyndon James score a game-changing half-century, Notts set their visitors a target of 210 before Brett Hutton’s heroics with the ball saw him take 6-38 to snatch victory at Welbeck Cricket Club.

Unable to continue his hot form from Friday, Ben Slater was removed in the opening over after Ben Coad found his outside edge before he then bowled Jack Haynes two balls later.

Coad continued to apply pressure as he almost found the outside edge numerous times before he bowled Freddie McCann two overs later. Matt Montgomery was then the final wicket to fall to Ben Coad in the 15th over as he was caught at second slip.

Haseeb Hameed battled well to keep the scoreboard ticking while wickets were falling, reaching 32 before he was removed by Leech as Notts posted 75/5 at the halfway stage.

An important partnership then followed while Lyndon James and Tom Moores were at the crease, the pair taking the fight to the Vikings and finding some considerable success, reaching a 50 partnership and overseeing an up-turn in run rate.

James then reached his half-century with a superb pull shot for four, three overs after smashing four boundaries in one over off the bowling of Leech.

Their partnership stood at 73 when Moores was caught at long-on by Dom Bess for 23, as Notts reached 150 in their 37th over.

Patterson-White then entered proceedings looking to continue the attack, but Yorkshire responded when they finally removed Lyndon James for 73 as he was caught at long-on by Matthew Revis.

Hutton, Fletcher and Pettman all went within two overs as Yorkshire’s death bowlers finished off Notts’ lower-order with efficiency. However, Patterson-White remained unbeaten with a very important cameo as his 38-ball 38 carried the Outlaws’ total past the 200 mark.

With a score to bowl at, Brett Hutton then made two early breakthroughs as he removed Will Luxton - top-edged straight into the air for a simple catch by Tom Moores - before Vikings captain Shan Masood was gone with Hutton's very next ball for a golden duck.

Haseeb Hameed then made an impact with an impressive run-out as he picked the ball up at mid-on and struck the stumps to remove Finlay Bean for 18.

Hutton continued to tear through the Vikings’ top order by taking two wickets in three balls to see Yorkshire 40/5 from their opening ten overs. George Hill was trapped lbw for a single run before Hutton repeated the delivery to remove Harry Duke for a duck, seeing Yorkshire finish their opening ten overs on 40/5.

Earning his affectionate nickname 'Hitman', Hutton was in no mood to stop as he secured his five-fer by taking the bails off the stumps of Matthew Revis for 7.

He soon had his sixth and final wicket of the afternoon, as Dom Bess was his next victim to fall. Hutton finished his ten overs with the superb figures of 6-38, included two maidens.

Luke Fletcher too decided to get in on the act by dismissing James Wharton for 21, driven straight to captain Hameed at mid-on to see Yorkshire eight down from just 16 overs.

Ben Coad and Dom Leech showed some resistance against the Outlaws' attack as they put together a 53 run ninth-wicket stand, until Lyndon James found Coad's outside edge which was caught nicely by a diving Tom Moores.

James then wrapped things up as he bowled Leech for 21 to see Outlaws end their Welbeck Weekender with back-to-back victories.

Notts return to 50-over action on Wednesday 31 July at Neath Cricket Club, where they are welcomed by Glamorgan in their fourth Group B contest.
