All-rounder Fateh Singh has joined Worcestershire on loan for the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

The 20-year-old is available to play for the Rapids from Sunday 28 July, when the West Midlands outfit face Durham at Visit Worcestershire New Road.

“Fateh has had an excellent season so far in the second team, and is unlucky not to be featuring at the moment in our own 50-over squad,” said Head Coach Peter Moores.

“The only reason he is not in the squad is the current strength of our spin department – Fateh is one of several high-quality spin options at our disposal, many of which have emerged through our system, which is fantastic to see.

“Ultimately, the loan system offers us the chance to provide more of our players valuable game time so that they’re in the best shape to perform for us on their return – as we saw with Liam Patterson-White earlier this season.

“We wish him the best of luck and I’m sure that he will contribute a lot to their group both on and off the field in his time with them”

Singh - a former England U19 player - has 12 Notts List A appearances to his name.

This season, he has played in six Second XI Championship games, in addition to featuring in seven Second XI T20 games.
