Notts Outlaws moved to within a point of the summit of the Second XI T20 North Division table with a 19-run victory over Leicestershire Foxes at the John Fretwell Centre.

A 35-run opening partnership between Ben Martindale and Sam Seecharan provided the base for Notts’ innings, while Rob Lord (39 from 27) and Jordan Neil (33 from 34) top-scored for the hosts in the mid-order as Leicestershire were set 152 to win.

Pace bowler James Hayes then shone with the ball, ripping through the top order as he returned figures of 3/26 from his four overs - Matt Montgomery, Fateh Singh, Toby Pettman and Lord also each taking a wicket.

The Foxes could only muster 132 runs as Hayes and Pettman ensured the visitors would score just four from their final two overs, earning Notts their third win of the Second XI T20 group campaign.

The Outlaws play their final group stage matches on Thursday 4 July with a double-header against Yorkshire at Westwood, the first fixture commencing at 11.30am.
