All-rounder Lyndon James said that adapting to conditions was of paramount importance on a tough day in the field against Durham.
Crediting the work of batters Ben McKinney and Alex Lees, both centurions for the home side, James spoke of how the wicket at Chester-le-Street proved different to expectations and forced the Green and Golds to rethink their strategy in the field throughout the day.
He also reflected on a commendable personal performance with the ball - taking three wickets across the afternoon and evening sessions - while giving the nod to Freddie McCann's maiden First-Class wicket and Brett Hutton's return to the red-ball format with a scalp of his own.
