Nottinghamshire entertain Sussex at Trent Bridge from 26 to 29 July as the home straight of the First-Class season approaches.

With international stars on either side, and with plenty at stake in the context of the season, you can catch every ball live at trentbridge.co.uk.

Table-topping consolidation

Glamorgan’s emphatic victory over Leicestershire at the weekend will mainly be remembered for Sam Northeast’s game-defining quadruple-century, but it was the Welsh county’s efforts in bowling out the opposition on the final day that had the biggest ramifications for Notts.

Steven Mullaney’s men now hold a 15-point advantage at the top of the table, with third-placed Middlesex a further eight back.

With Durham having made a promising start against their London-based opponents this week, and with Glamorgan enjoying a break from the county grind, Nottinghamshire have the opportunity to take control of the fight for first place.

The record-breakers return

Haseeb Hameed and Ben Duckett’s dominance over Derbyshire was witnessed in person by only the hardiest of souls, on a day of unprecedentedly high temperatures nationwide.

This week, the duo will have the backing of their home faithful as they bid to continue their productive campaigns.

With Hameed having recorded a century on his last outing at home, and with Duckett averaging 83.75 across the English First-Class summer, both will be eyeing match-shaping contributions once more.

Sussex’s stars

Nottinghamshire secured a comprehensive victory over this week’s opposition in April, but the visitors will be buoyed by the presence of two performers who missed the encounter on the south coast.

Cheteshwar Pujara’s impact on the Sharks has been remarkable, with the former Notts batter hitting five hundreds and passing 1,000 runs for the First-Class summer.

England seamer Ollie Robinson, meanwhile, is in line for his first appearance in some two months.

The right-armer has racked up international experience aplenty in the past year – including a maiden Test five-fer against India at Trent Bridge – and will be a focal point for the visitors’ attack.
