Sarah Bryce says she is “massively proud” of making 100 appearances for “a great club” as The Blaze gear up to return to action against Somerset.
Bryce capped her century by being part of a five-wicket win over Surrey that saw The Blaze establish a four-point cushion at the top of the Metro Bank One Day Cup table.
Now, after a nine-day break, Craig Cumming’s side are back in action for a long trip south to the Maer Ground in Exmouth, and Bryce says she and the team are in a strong position.
“It’s a great club to be part of, so to get to represent this team so many times is amazing,” she said.
“I feel extremely lucky to be able to do it with such a great group of people as well, and hopefully there are many more games to come!
“I think Somerset have done pretty well so far this season, so we know we’ll have to play well to get the win, but we’re in a great place as a team too.
“It’s been a good time for a little break. It’s been pretty hectic so far, and it’s going to be another busy few days, but we’ve had some good training to get us ready for that.
“We’re all feeling good, and we’re excited about the next couple of games to finish off this first block of 50-over cricket before the Blast.”
Bryce retains her spot among a 13-strong group that will be travelling to the South West, with The Blaze also boosted by the returns of Marie Kelly and Orla Prendergast from minor injuries.

It is the second squad that Bryce has been named in within 36 hours, as she was also yesterday confirmed to be part of Scotland’s ICC T20 World Cup squad for this summer’s tournament.
Naturally, it was a call that filled her with pride, and, having been joined in that group by two of her domestic teammates, she can’t wait for the tournament to begin.
“I think we’ve got a great squad, so I’m super excited for it. It’s amazing too to have Kirstie [Gordon] back; she grew up through the Scottish system.
“There were lots of conversations between me and Kathryn, and Kirstie, but ultimately it had to be her decision and what was right for her. I’m just really glad that she made that decision!
“It was a huge one for her to make, and she’s had to do so much to get to this point, but we’re absolutely delighted to have her back on board.
“Being in a World Cup that’s so close to home is going to be so exciting, and we’ll get lots of family and friends coming down that wouldn’t necessarily get to be there otherwise too.”
Bryce has an opportunity to push close to 100 international caps too if Scotland qualify for the knockout stages of the World Cup.
She reflects fondly on her growing senior role within both her international and domestic sides.
“The more experience you get, the more you want to be able to share that knowledge, so hopefully I can do that more with the youngsters that are coming through,” she said.
“It’s great to see the players that are being produced by the Academy, and that bodes really well for this team in the future.”
Such experience is helpful for Bryce in situations like the one she and the side will face in Exmouth this week, in self-described unfamiliar surroundings.
“We obviously don’t know the ground well, and in fact I don’t know if anyone has ever played there before!” she said.
“There have been some games played there recently, which we’re obviously able to gain a little bit from, but then it comes down to things on the day and seeing what’s out there.
“You have to do that wherever you play, but I think that becomes even more important when you’re in a situation like this, when you don’t know exactly what it’s going to be like.
“I think our ability to assess the conditions quickly and adapt to whatever the pitch might offer us will be key, and that variability in conditions is what makes cricket exciting.”
