Nottinghamshire members were invited to give their thoughts on the strategic direction of the club at a listening event with Chief Executive Richard Kenyon during the pre-season friendly against Loughborough.

More than 80 members contributed to discussions across two sittings during the friendly fixture.

Those in attendance heard results from last autumn’s game-wide member and supporter survey, were invited to share their views on the membership experience, and made suggestions as to how they felt the club should develop in the next ten years.

“Nobody knows our club better than our members, and these listening events were a really good opportunity for me to gain a deeper understanding of their thoughts, feelings and priorities,” said Chief Executive Richard Kenyon.

“The best way for us to thrive as a member-owned club is to work alongside our members to look after and grow the club over the long term.

“Their views will be really important in the development of our strategy for sustained on and off-pitch success.”

Conversations around the club’s long-term priorities included discussion on the merits of further ground development at Trent Bridge and elsewhere, increased collaboration with other Nottingham-based sports clubs, and enhanced sustainability standards.

Members also expressed views on how new attendees to Trent Rockets fixtures could be attracted to Nottinghamshire matches, and spoke of the importance of trophy wins, consistently competitive teams and effective succession planning in the professional game.

Over 1,500 Nottinghamshire members and supporters completed the ECB’s game-wide survey in the closing weeks of the 2025 season.

The results showed that key reasons for becoming a member at Trent Bridge included value for money, priority access to tickets and the ability to access all scheduled home fixtures.

The listening event also featured a summary of action taken following a series of member focus groups last year.

Membership feedback on that occasion fed into the development of The Clubhouse, a new members’ facility in the Derek Randall Suite, along with enhanced promotion of existing membership benefits and the forthcoming integration of Nottinghamshire into the brand of The Blaze, the county’s women’s cricket team.

There will be further opportunities for members to share their opinions throughout the season, with the first members’ forum of the year scheduled for Friday 8 May at 1pm, during the Rothesay County Championship game against Surrey.
