Important partnerships from the top and middle order backed up a solid fielding performance as Notts Outlaws edged out Warwickshire at Welbeck to win by three wickets.
Ben Slater and Freddie McCann’s opening stand of 103 was added to by Kyle Verreynne and Joe Pocklington, with a partneragip of 82 carrying Notts closer to the line, before Byron Hatton-Lowe struck the winning runs.
Pocklington was also the pick of the bunch with the ball, taking three wickets as Notts restricted Warwickshire to 282 after Haseeb Hameed won the toss and opted to bat first.
The Outlaws got off to a great start as Brett Hutton removed Jani for just 1 in his third over before he struck again soon after, finding the outside edge of Rob Yates, who departed for 19 after a tidy catch from Freddie McCann at slip.
Lyndon James replaced James Hayes in the attack before the end of the first powerplay and removed Zen Malik, who chipped the ball up to Farhan Ahmed at point for a quickfire 29.
It meant from the first ten overs, Warwickshire were 59/3.
Notts still had control throughout the next ten overs as Kai Smith played James onto his stumps.
Joe Pocklington then joined the attack and the wickets as he bowled Davies for 20 before Farhan Ahmed took a sixth Notts wicket just before the half-way stage, leaving Warwickshire 126-6.
A seventh-wicket partnership of 121 between George Garton and Ethan Bamber saw the former reach his maiden senior century as momentum swung in the way of the visitors for the first time in the match.
With ten overs remaining, Warwickshire were 223-6. Bamber then reached his half-century before he was caught in the deep almost instantly after off the bowling of Joe Pocklington.
The spinner then struck again with his final ball, taking his third wicket as he trapped Ali LBW.
Looking to attack in the final overs, Lyndon James made the breakthrough to remove Garton for 117 with a good catch in the deep from Ben Martindale.
James Hayes would take the final wicket in the final over to see Warwickshire set Outlaws 283 for victory.
Ben Slater and Freddie McCann got off to a tidy start, scoring briskly inside the first powerplay without giving many chances away and ending the first ten overs 49/0.
The scoring rate increased as the pair got settled in the middle, McCann’s cover drives the pick of the shots.
They would reach their 100 partnership moments before Ben Slater found Jani at close point.
McCann would move to a second consecutive half-century before he was bowled by Jake Lintott for an impressive 62 from 64 balls.
Lintott would strike again soon after, though, bowling skipper Haseeb Hameed through the gate.
Ben Martindale played some nice shots as he began to build a partnership with Kyle Verreynne, seeing Notts to 146/3 at the halfway stage. He would be caught, looking to sweep, for a tidy 35 soon after.
Jake Lintott continued to be a thorn in Outlaws’ side as he struck again to remove Lyndon James for 11.
Joe Pocklington joined Kyle Verreynne in the middle and contributed to a crucial fifty-run partnership which saw the latter bring up his half-century with a fine four down the ground.
Pocklington would depart for 31 with Notts just ten runs shy of Warwickshire's total; however, Verreynne and Hatton-Lowe would see Outlaws across the line to record a second successive victory in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.
