Sarah Glenn has been heartened by the level of performance turned in by her The Blaze counterparts in recent weeks, as the side head to Lord’s to take on Sunrisers.

Glenn has been named in a 13-strong squad for the trip to London (Thursday 13 June, 2.15pm), as The Blaze seek their eighth successive win in the Charlotte Edwards Cup.

The 25-year-old made her return in orange and black for The Blaze’s win over Northern Diamonds at Headingley, having taken six wickets in England’s 3-0 T20 series whitewash over Pakistan.

And she has slipped seamlessly back into life with her regional teammates.

“Coming back into a team that’s doing so well, and has so much momentum, is great,” she said.

“It allows me to focus more on myself and my own game, but there’s definitely part of me thinking ‘I’ve got to keep up with everyone else here!’

“There are different pressures in different ways, but this is probably the best kind to have.”

Alongside Glenn’s three-wicket haul, The Blaze were indebted to Tammy Beaumont and Kathryn Bryce in Sunday’s win over Diamonds, striking 45 and 54 respectively.

Match-winning performances have been spread throughout The Blaze’s playing squad during their 20-over unbeaten run – which the England spinner sees as a strength.

“It’s reassuring to see so many people contributing,” she said.

“That means that when we get into a sticky situation – as we were at Headingley the other day – I just felt like I had faith in everyone.

“It’s so nice to see we’re not relying on one or two people.”

Glenn’s seniority affords her the opportunity to pass on guidance from the global stage to other players in The Blaze’s camp – but she maintains that the exchange of knowledge goes both ways.

“I just feel like I’m one of the team really, but do I try and help as much as I can,” she said.

“But they can help me as well – for example, our other spinners will have been working closely with Marshy [Laura Marsh] while I’ve been away, so I’m often asking for tips from them as well.”
