An England shirt signed by the players from the 2022 Trent Bridge Test which kickstarted the Bazball revolution leads 12 lots going under the hammer to raise money for the Trent Bridge Community Trust.

Nottinghamshire and The Blaze sponsors John Pye Auctions are delivering the charity auction via their online bidding platform, with in excess of £5,500 being raised by a similar initiative last year.

The framed England shirt has been signed by the players who took to the field for the Three Lions during the unforgettable 2022 Test in Nottingham, when Jonny Bairstow led a chase of 299 on the final afternoon against New Zealand in front of a sold-out crowd.

Alongside Bairstow, the likes of Test captain Ben Stokes, Notts and England icon Stuart Broad and England’s all-time leading run-scorer and wicket-taker, Joe Root and James Anderson, have added their signatures to the garment.

Bids are also being sought for a wealth of cricketing experiences – including the opportunity for a junior cricket-lover to lead the Outlaws onto the field at a Vitality Blast home game or enjoy a media experience day at a home T20 fixture. Items will be available for collection in time for Christmas, from John Pye Auctions' headquarters in New Basford, between Wednesday 18 and Friday 20 December.

The twelve lots comprise:

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Trent Bridge Community Trust, as Nottinghamshire’s official charity seeks to continue its life-changing work in the community.

Initiatives operated by the Trust include Positive Futures – which takes a prevention-based approach to improving the behaviour and raise the aspirations of young people, through one-to-one mentoring and group activities.

Forget Me Notts, meanwhile, supports individuals who are living with dementia by offering physically and mentally stimulating activities in a safe space – and also facilitates a network of peer support for carers.

“We were very thankful for the support we received from last year’s auction – every penny we receive makes a real difference, helping us to break down barriers and raise aspirations for people across the county,” said Mandy Wright, Head of Community and Development.

“As with last winter, a number of these lots would make an ideal festive gift for a cricket-lover – including those money-can’t-buy opportunities to step behind the scenes at Trent Bridge.

“Christmas is traditionally a time when we take a moment to think of those less fortunate than ourselves, but the funds we receive from this auction will help us to provide year-round support for those in need of a helping hand across the city and county.”
