With nearly 12 weeks having elapsed since the last ball of the County Championship season was bowled, here’s a round up of Outlaws’ assignments on the international, franchise and club cricket stage, including tours and tournaments in Nepal, the UAE, South Africa and New Zealand.
England Lions tour of South Africa (November 20 - December 14)
Farhan Ahmed proved his mettle in England Lions’ tour of South Africa, with the 16-year-old top scoring in the visitors’ second innings of the sole four-day game.
Ultimately, it proved a tough test for England’s second string with the CSA Invitational XI winning by 284 runs, albeit Dillon Pennington proved his fitness bowling 14 overs in the first innings while Freddie McCann also featured.
Josh Tongue also continued his recovery from injury on the three-week tour, which included red and white-ball training for England’s high potential players.
Abu Dhabi T10 (November 21- December 2)
Notts’ Head Coach, Peter Moores, secured the Abu Dhabi T10 Trophy with Deccan Gladiators working under Mushtaq Ahmed. His star-studded team included Nicholas Pooran, Jos Buttler, Marcus Stoinis and top-scorer Tom Kohler-Cadmore.
Elsewhere, Alex Hales represented Ajman Bolts scoring 163 runs from seven innings, including an unbeaten 75 from 30 balls against New York Strikers.
ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (November 26 - December 7)
Outlaws captain Joe Clarke was a beaten finalist in the Guyana-based Global Super League with Australian side Victoria.
The five team tournament featured teams from around the world, including Hampshire Hawks. Clarke himself finished sixth top-scorer in the competition, with 121 runs from four innings.
England tour of New Zealand (November 28 - December 18)
England secured a 2-1 win on their Test tour of New Zealand, with Ben Duckett and Olly Stone both included in the touring party.
Across the three-match series, Duckett made 190 runs opening the batting in testing conditions, with his 92 in the second Test his top score.
Nepal Premier League (November 30 - December 21)
Tom Moores proved a leading light for his side, hitting 145 from seven innings for Lumbini Lions in the Nepal Premier League, including a brisk 30 from just 17 balls in his opening game, and 45 from 38 two fixtures later.
Big Bash League (Ongoing)
Joe Clarke made a two-game cameo for Peter Moores' Melbourne Stars, where he has previously won the club's player of the season title, as a replacement player for Ben Duckett.
The England opener is now back in the squad having finished his stint in New Zealand, witht the Stars set on turning around a challenging start to the competition.
