Trent Rockets officially launched their 2024 season with a takeover of Nottingham’s Bustler Market in a one-of-a-kind event to celebrate the return of The Hundred to the East Midlands.

Free to the public with special invitations to local cricket clubs running Dynamos Cricket programmes, those in attendance were able to secure pictures and autographs with the likes of Nat Sciver-Brunt, Alana King, Joe Root and Rashid Khan.

Members of the playing squad and the public were also able to enjoy the host of entertainment on offer at the venue’s residence in Sneinton Market Avenue - including a set from resident DJ Charlie Burley, arcade games and live screening of The Hundred.

The event came a day prior to the Rockets’ second home game in the competition - a sold out affair against Welsh Fire at Trent Bridge.

Sciver-Brunt’s side are currently one win from their opening three games, having lost by one and six runs in nail-biting affairs against Manchester Originals and Birmingham Phoenix, after victory in their opener against Northern Superchargers.

“It is always special to meet the fans who support us in Nottingham,” she said.

“We had the crowd right behind us in our first game against Birmingham Phoenix and they are what makes Trent Bridge such an amazing place to play.

“The atmosphere is unique, with loads of kids and families, and it was brilliant to spend the time with those who give us so much support.”

The men’s side are currently two wins from three having suffered defeat in their first home game after a dramatic one-run win in the North West, and a comprehensive victory in Leeds.

“Anyone who plays in this side recognises how lucky we are to get the crowds we do at Trent Bridge,” captain Lewis Gregory said.

“So to come and see some of those people who support us in person is a great experience.

“Whenever there’s a wicket our boundary our way we really feel them behind us, and with three home games left I’m sure they’ll continue to push us on for the rest of the competition.”

Tickets remain available for Trent Rockets’ final two home games of the season with London Spirit (7 August) and Oval Invincibles (14 August) set to visit Nottingham.
