Josh Beer, Henry Hardy and Oscar Butcher have become the latest Nottinghamshire representatives at the prestigious Bunbury Festival, with their Midlands team winning three of their five matches played across the last week.

The renowned festival features the best U15 cricketers divided into four squads based on their county of origin: London & East, South & West, Midlands and North. The squads compete in 50-over and Twenty20 competitions across a round-robin of games.

Wicketkeeper Butcher enjoyed a prolific tournament, contributing a run-a-ball 63 to top-score for the Midlands in a 50-over clash against London and South East, which the southern side eventually prevailed by three wickets.

He went on to make an unbeaten 22 against North, hitting the winning runs as Midlands chased a revised target of 175 from 25 overs, and amassed 50* from 40 as Midlands beat South and West by two runs in a nailbiting final fixture.

Leg-spinner Beer took three wickets across four appearances, captaining the Midlands outfit on three occasions, including a win over South and West.

Hardy also made four appearances, with best figures of 2/20 from four overs as the Midlands beat the North by six wickets.
Beer also represented the Midlands at last year’s Bunbury Festival, alongside Josh Parsons and Toby Lambert.

Farhan Ahmed, selected this week for England Lions, and Ben Martindale are among the Notts first-teamers to have also featured at the festival in recent years.
