Yorkshire’s U18s closed out a 117-run victory over their Nottinghamshire counterparts in a one-day fixture at Weetwood, despite Travis Holland’s brisk fifty at the top of the order.
Holland hit 69 from 59 deliveries as Notts embarked upon their run-chase, with the hosts having made 233/4 from their 45 overs.
The right-hander was the eighth wicket to fall, after right-armer Harvey Round accounted for the rest of the Notts top order in a spell which yielded five wickets for 17 runs.
Notts were ultimately dismissed for 116 in 27.2 overs.
Earlier, Alex Cree and Noah Kelly each hit half-centuries in Yorkshire’s innings, while Byron Hatton-Lowe picked up two wickets and Drew Owen and Farhan Ahmed collected a scalp apiece.
