All-rounder Calvin Harrison has signed a three-year contract extension to keep him at Trent Bridge until 2026.
It will take the 25-year-old to six years spent at Nottinghamshire, having initially impressed against the Green and Golds with a hundred for Oxford MCCU in the pre-season of 2021.
That year, he became an ever-present in the Notts Outlaws side, finishing as the third most prolific T20 bowler in the competition, twice taking four wickets in an innings, including a triple-wicket maiden against Birmingham Bears.
Earlier this season, Harrison made his First-Class debut for Nottinghamshire in a hard-fought draw against Essex at Trent Bridge, and has since claimed a total of 10 wickets in four red-ball fixtures.
“From the moment I started here, I have loved it,” Harrison said.
“My game has really come on, and the last few years has been an enjoyable process of finding myself as a cricketer and the work I’ve been able to do with all of the coaching staff here has allowed me to grow my game to where it is now.
“Looking forwards, I always try to make an impact whether in the field, with the ball or with the bat, so I am constantly trying to find ways to get better and gain consistency in those areas.
“The whole plan has been to keep developing as a cricketer and although I feel I have improved a lot, I feel I still have a lot more to come, and I’m looking forward to working with all the coaches to keep becoming a better player.
“Of course, you want to be playing in all formats, all of the time, so hopefully I can take strides to making a mark here and work towards winning games and competitions for Nottinghamshire.”
Having played 25 T20 games for the Outlaws, only 12 players have taken more than Harrison’s 37 wickets for the side.
His performances with the white-ball earned him a spot with Manchester Originals in The Hundred for the first two editions of the competitions, while he will be available for the Outlaws in this year’s Metro Bank One Day Cup.
“It’s been great to watch Calvin’s development over the last three seasons both with the bat and ball,” Head Coach, Peter Moores, said.
“His talent has never been in question and he’s now starting to understand how to get the best out of himself. He epitomises the three-dimensional cricketer being an outstanding fielder along with his main two skillsets.
“It’s been exciting to watch him take his opportunity in red ball cricket following his outstanding T20 campaign. I know we’re as excited about his future as much as he is, and it’s great for us that he’s committed to the Club for the next three years.”
