Nottinghamshire’s Second XI will host Derbyshire in their Second XI Championship curtain-raiser, with 23 days of second-team cricket scheduled to take place within the county’s borders in 2023.

The East Midlands rivals face off from Monday 17 April over four days at the Nottinghamshire Sports Club – an encounter which is preceded by a two-day friendly on 10 and 11 April at Loughborough University.
Leicestershire will also visit Lady Bay in the early weeks of the season, before a three-week programme of T20 cricket takes in Worksop College and Sookholme’s John Fretwell Centre, home to Welbeck CC.
Nottinghamshire’s 50-over assignments include a fixture against Parsee Gymkhana Mumbai on 7 June, while the South Asian Cricket Academy will contest a three-day friendly at Lady Bay between 18 and 20 July.
No side secured more wins than the Green and Golds in last summer’s Second XI Championship, with six victories coming from 12 matches.
Wicketkeeper Dane Schadendorf was the competition’s most prolific batter, amassing 1,001 runs at 45.50 while also claiming a tournament-leading 35 dismissals.
Toby Pettman’s 37 wickets at 20.67, meanwhile, placed him third on the list of wicket-takers – one position and one scalp ahead of fellow Outlaw Calvin Harrison.
Supporters are most welcome to attend Nottinghamshire’s Second XI fixtures at Lady Bay free of charge, with membership cards and match tickets not required.
