Nottinghamshire and England legend Graeme Swann will serve as host when Luke Fletcher’s testimonial year begins at Trent Bridge next month.

The former Nottinghamshire teammates will be joined by sporting guests to launch a year-long celebration of Luke’s commitment to the game on Friday 24 February.

“Swanny was the first to put his hand up and offer to support my testimonial and if I’m going to have anybody stand at the front and throw shots at me then it has to be him,” said Fletcher.

“Trent Bridge is a place that we’ve both called home for a long time and I’m looking forward to catching up with a room full of people that have supported me throughout my career.

“Anyone that has shared a dressing room with Swanny will tell you how much he adds, not just because he’s an incredible cricketer, but through his energy and relentless chatter.

“I’m delighted that he’s supporting this event.”

Swann’s move to Nottinghamshire proved to be the catalyst for his England career as he featured in 60 Tests for England following his debut against India in 2008.

A portion of proceeds from Luke’s testimonial events will support his chosen charities; PASIC, The Trent Bridge Community Trust and The Professional Cricketers’ Trust.
