Former Warwickshire and England cricketer Dennis Amiss will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Nottingham Cricket Lovers’ Society, from 7pm on Thursday 23 February at Trent Bridge.

Amiss played 50 Tests for England between 1966 and 1977, scoring 11 centuries and averaging over 46 with the bat.

Across a 27-year career, he recorded 102 centuries, making him one of just twenty-five cricketers in the history of the game to reach the landmark of 100 first-class hundreds.

Amiss remained in the game after his retirement from playing and held leading management roles with Warwickshire and the England & Wales Cricket Board.

In the first part of the meeting, Trent Bridge Heritage Volunteer Peter Smith will speak about the triangular Test series of 1912. This included a match at Trent Bridge between Australia and South Africa, the only occasion when a Test at the ground has not featured England.

Membership of the Society is £15 for the full season, or £5 for an individual meeting.
