A celebration of Nottingham’s independent spirit will be at the heart of Notts Street Food’s Summer Tour stop-off at Trent Bridge on Sunday 30 April.

The Bank Holiday Weekend event will feature the cream of the local food, craft market and music scenes, building on residencies in Sneinton and the Victoria Centre.

Tickets are available now, priced at £5 for adults and £2.50 for juniors, for access to the ten-hour showcase. Secure your tickets here…

“It’s great to be able to bring these experiences and creatives together,” said Nathaniel Wilson, Nottingham Street Food’s Creative Director.

“We’ve got the best of the independent markets from Sneinton and some great local music on board alongside the food, and we’ve not been able to bring all of that together too often.

“To be partnering which such an internationally renowned venue is so exciting.”

A wealth of cuisines will be represented when the event visits Trent Bridge, with diversity firmly at the forefront of Wilson’s plans.

“We want to make sure we can cater for all tastes,” he said.

“That means the likes of Jerk Kitchen – who cook Jamaican Jerk in a traditional barrel, which you don’t find that often in Nottingham – but it also means the likes of Doughnotts, who we’ve been working with ever since they were set up six or seven years ago.

“And there are newer traders, like Carolina’s Chilli, who cook all-vegan Tex-Mex food and give us something different to offer.”

Sri Lankan restaurant Colombo, Prad Thai, Dirty Chicken, Caribbean bakery Yelloyard and Banquet’s Argentinian BBQ offering are also set to be served up at Trent Bridge – a combination which Wilson feels is unique in the West Bridgford area.

“We’ve always been very city-centre-based, but I think the people of Bridgford and the surrounding areas will be really receptive to this kind of event – maybe they’ve been missing out on something that puts this kind of spin on the independent food experience,” he said.

“We can’t wait to see how it goes this April, and hopefully we’ll be able to emulate the Robin Hood Beer Festival and turn this into an annual thing.”
