Record demand has been seen for fixtures across the summer’s contests between England and Australia, with over 60,000 tickets having already been sold for the multi-format Women’s Ashes series.
The clash at Trent Bridge is on course to be the best-attended Women’s Test ever staged in England and Wales, as the venue which has been officially recognised as the finest in the country for international cricket stages its maiden Women’s Ashes encounter.
England captain Heather Knight will lead a side which is likely to feature the likes of reigning ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year Nat Sciver-Brunt and fellow The Blaze star Tammy Beaumont – both of whom played their part in a nailbiting draw when the Three Lions last faced Australia in the game’s longest format.
The visitors, meanwhile, are firmly established as one of the most successful sides in world sport, having won the last two Ashes series outright and triumphed in the recent 50-over and T20 World Cups.
Skipper Meg Lanning will have the likes of Trent Rockets spinner Alana King – who took the first-ever hat-trick in The Hundred's women's competition – at her disposal for the seven-match series.
