Hours of play (for both fixtures)

Gates open at 9.30am, with the all-important toss of the coin & team announcement at 10.30am and start of play scheduled for 11am.

The first innings of 50 overs will take place between 11am and 2.30pm, before a 30-minute interval. The second innings of 50 overs will then take place between 3pm and 6.30pm.

Kindly note that these timings are subject to change.

Location

Grantham Cricket Club (NG31 7UE) is situated just off Gorse Lane, and is easily accessible from the A1.

If you are approaching from Nottingham, the quickest route is to follow the A52 towards Grantham before taking the A1 South.

Access to the ground will be clearly signposted on the day.

There will be two entry gates available: one for spectators on foot from Gorse Lane, and one for those arriving by car off Wyville Road.

How to access the venue by car (local road closures & diversions)

Kindly note that, in order to manage the flow of traffic on the day, the entrance to Wyville Road (leading to Gorse Lane) directly off the A607 will be closed to through traffic. This is the route you might naturally want to take, and that a satellite navigation system might try to direct you, if you are arriving off the A52/A1. For clarity, the route you are needing to avoid is the one that takes you past the Premier Inn and adjoining Brewers Fayre.

When arriving from the A1, you will instead need to turn left onto the A607 Harlaxton Road, then right onto Springfield Road, then right onto South Parade B1174. You will pass a corner where you will see McDonald’s located; continue to follow the road until you see the turning for Gorse Lane on your right. After taking the turning onto Gorse Lane, you will pass the ground on your right-hand side, after which you should turn right onto Wyville Road before entering the car park on your right hand side.

Event signage will guide you in relation to the above.

It will, in essence, take you in a small horse-shoe shape, but should add no more than a few extra minutes to your journey.

Travel Information

Car parking

Car parking for spectators will be available from 9am off Wyville Road adjacent to the cricket club, rather than through the main entrance to the ground. This will be priced at £3 for members and £5 for non-members. Minibus parking will also be available at the same location, priced at £10.

Travelling by train

Trains are scheduled to run at regular intervals between Nottingham and Grantham on the morning and evening of each game. Journey times vary between 30-40 minutes, and return fares cost from £10. For the latest timetable information, please check the National Rail website before planning your journey.

A taxi between Grantham Railway Station and the cricket ground will cost approx. £10 each way, taking approximately seven minutes to reach the ground. A taxi drop-off area will be available at the ground via the Gorse Lane entrance.

Please note that rail strikes are currently scheduled to go ahead on Saturday 13 August, which may cause disruption on some services. Whilst East Midlands Railway services are not scheduled to be affected at present, there may be disruption to LNER services through Grantham.

Seating

Grantham Cricket Club provides an outground cricket watching experience. A picnic rug may, therefore, be all you need to enjoy the match in this setting.

Fold down chairs will be available at the ground and supporters are also welcome to bring along their own seating.

Kindly note that shade and shelter at the venue is at a premium, so be sure to pack hats, umbrellas, waterproof clothing and sun cream accordingly.

Food & Drink

A number of catering options will be available at food units around the ground. There will also be bar facilities serving alcoholic and soft drinks.

If you still wish to bring your own food & drink, please ensure that you avoid alcohol, glassware or metal cutlery.

Interval outfield access

Guests are most welcome to take a stroll on the outfield, or partake in their own impromptu cricket match, during the interval between innings.

Retail

A small retail outlet will be in operation on the day for Outlaws souvenirs, while scorecards will also be available, priced at 50p.

Toilet Facilities

Toilet facilities will be available around the ground and will be clearly signposted.

These will include a Mobiloo accessible toilet, with an adult-sized changing bench and a hoist.

Information for those using wheelchairs

All of the seating for this fixture will be at ground level, meaning that public areas throughout the venue will be accessible for those using wheelchairs.

A Mobiloo facility will also be available.

Should you encounter any difficulties, or need any assistance, please feel free to approach one of our friendly stewards.

Second hand book store

Bargains galore will be available at the second-hand book stall (next to the retail outlet) from 1-3pm. Cash sales only, with all proceeds helping to buy more books for the Wynne-Thomas Library at Trent Bridge.

The volunteers, who will be staffing the stall, will also be on hand to provide further information in relation to the new lending service in the library, guided tours of Trent Bridge and opportunities to get involved in the heritage programme.
