Nottinghamshire’s Samit Patel (Lahore Qalandars) and Ben Duckett (Quetta Gladiators) have been selected for the 2022 Pakistan Super League.
Patel, who completed an overseas assignment in the Abu Dhabi T10 League in the winter and is currently with Galle Gladiators in the Lanka Premier League, remains with the Qalandars having averaged 21.25 with the bat and taken three wickets for the side in 2021.
Duckett meanwhile, who is currently with Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League, returns to the competition having represented Islamabad United twice in 2016.
Both Patel and Duckett played vital roles in Notts’ dominant Vitality Blast North Group campaign, with the former reaching the all-rounder’s landmark double of 5,000 runs and 250 wickets in T20 cricket in the process.
The pair join Joe Clarke (Karachi Kings), Alex Hales (Islamabad United) and Peter Moores (Karachi Kings) in Pakistan for the tournament which will take place across January and February, while analyst Kunal Manek will also work with Moores at Karachi.
