Notts Outlaws’ Vitality Blast openers Joe Clarke (Karachi Kings) and Alex Hales (Islamabad United) have been retained by their Pakistan Super League franchises for the 2022 edition of the competition.
Hales, who is currently showcasing his talent with Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League, averaged 28.66 for United in 2021 with a high score of 46, whilst Clarke - presently with Melbourne Stars - scored 121 runs in just four innings for the Kings last year.
The pair have remained sought after commodities in the white ball game following a rampant display in the Vitality Blast in 2021. Clarke scored 408 runs in the tournament, including a destructive 136 against Northamptonshire, while Hales blasted 482 runs with an unbeaten ton against Lancashire.
Clarke will ply his trade under the tutelage of Nottinghamshire’s Peter Moores who has been announced as Head Coach of the Kings, while Pakistan international and former Outlaw Imad Wasim, who formed a vital part of Notts’ 2020 title-winning squad, will also play for the franchise.
The tournament is set to take place across January and February.
