Zak Chappell has been named Nottinghamshire’s Emerging Pro of the Season.
The 24-year-old, who joined the county ahead of the 2019 season, took 15 wickets in four First-Class appearances.
The paceman accumulated an enviable list of scalps across the Bob Willis Trophy campaign – including the likes of Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan and Keaton Jennings – and led the attack with the new ball in the absence of the injured Jake Ball and Luke Fletcher.
“If you give Zak a challenge, he’ll take it on,” said Assistant Coach Kevin Shine.
“It was nice to see him develop his skills, bowl the important overs, and string those overs together over a long period of time.

“You never forget the experience of getting those matches under your belt and taking those wickets. He’s got that experience now, so the challenge is to keep refining and honing all of his skills.
“We’ve building a nice group of fast bowlers here, so there will be an awful lot of competition for places next summer. Knowing the way he goes about his business, Zak will only be inspired to work harder and harder.”
Chappell joins Sam King, Academy Player of the Season, in being recognised by Nottinghamshire’s coaching staff for his achievements in 2020.
