Six volunteers who went the extra mile in the name of recreational cricket in 2020 are to be honoured in this week's Nottinghamshire Covid Champion OSCAs.
The awards, which will be broadcast on YouTube at 7pm on Thursday 3 December, are designed to recognise players, coaches, league organisers and members of the cricketing workforce for their efforts in ensuring that the recreational game could continue in testing circumstances.
The ceremony will also feature the thoughts of Nottinghamshire Head Coach Peter Moores and Championship Player of the Season Ben Slater on a sporting year like no other.
"Every year, our Nottinghamshire OSCAs commemorate the dedication and endeavour of volunteers across the county. Without their efforts, it simply wouldn’t be possible for thousands across the county to take part in the game they love," said Mandy Wright, Nottinghamshire's Community and Development Manager.
"In an ordinary year, we would hold an evening of celebration at Trent Bridge for our deserving award-winners and their teammates across the recreational game. However, with this being anything but an ordinary year, we have taken our awards ceremony online.
"After a summer in which the contributions of volunteers have been more crucial than ever before, we cant wait to provide a fotting celebration for their quite remarkable achievements."
The ceremony will be available to watch here from 7pm on Thursday 3 December.
