Nottinghamshire and England’s Kirstie Gordon has been ruled out of action after scans revealed she’s suffered a stress fracture in her lower back.
The 21-year-old burst onto the scene during the ICC Women's World T20, leading England's wicket-taking charts with eight scalps to her name.
Prior to that she'd enjoyed a memorable summer, taking the most wickets in both the Royal London Women's County Championship and the Kia Super League.
For Nottinghamshire she amassed 35 wickets at an average of 10.06, including 5-18 against Warwickshire, one of two five-wicket hauls.
She added a further 17 dismissals at 12.47 for the Loughborough Lightning, going at a miserly economy rate of just over six runs an over.
England Women's Head Coach Mark Robinson said: "Kirstie has had a great start to her international career so this is obviously a setback for her but hopefully the time out will allow her to come back fitter and stronger."
