Matt Milnes claimed figures of 4-62 on a rain-affected second day of Nottinghamshire Second XI’s match against Yorkshire at Scarborough.
With the visitors having been bowled out for 232 on day one, the hosts resumed on 42-2 but were soon three down from the eighth ball of the day as Matthew Waite (3) edged Milnes - who had taken both Yorkshire wickets to fall the previous evening - to Will Root at first slip.
Yorkshire then advanced the score to 84 before Bilal Anjam (22) edged Jack Blatherwick to keeper Tom Keast, but Jordan Thompson then completed his fifty from 57 balls.
Together with Benjamin Birkhead, the pair reached the fifty partnership in the 40th over, but Thompson was then caught for 56 by Root at slip off the bowling of Liam Patterson-White, making it 151-5.
Soon after, Birkhead (34) fended a Milnes bouncer to Ben Kitt at second slip and by lunch the score had moved to 163-6, with Karl Carver and Ed Barnes both on 4.
However, the start of the second session was delayed due to rain which got progressively worse and play for the day was eventually abandoned.
