A combined Nottinghamshire Second XI and Academy team played out a rain-affected draw against the touring Bangladesh Academy in a 50-over per side match at Lady Bay.
The hosts won the toss and elected to field first, but Bangladesh scored fluently in an innings dominated by a century from Zamul Shanto during which they piled up 306-5.
Matt Milnes trapped Subkur Irfaan lbw for 11 from the last ball of the fourth over, but it was to be the last Notts success for some time.
Islam Shadman and Shanto put on 164 for the second wicket in 31.4 overs before the former was caught at long-on by Will Fraine off the bowling of Lyndon James, the batsman having struck seven fours and two sixes.
After the 200 was posted in the 40th over, Shadman’s replacement at the crease, Hassan Rabbi was caught by keeper Tom Keast for 16 off the bowling of spinner Billy Root.
Shanto completed his century from 119 balls with sixes and four fours but was soon run out for 106 by Will Fraine with the score on 244-4.
The final wicket of the innings to fall came when Mohammed Al-Amin was caught at fine leg by Fraine from Luke Wood, leaving Mohammed Shaifuddin, who hit 33 not out, and Hayder Tanbir, who scored 11 not out, to see Bangladesh past 300.
The Nottinghamshire reply was led by Chris Gibson and Luke Wood, and they posted a fifty stand in eight overs.
However, Wood was then caught at extra cover by Shanto from Hossain Ebadot’s bowling for 43 with the total on 65.
Tom Moores came to the crease but was soon bowled by Hasan Mehadi for 3 before Gibson was trapped lbw by the same bowler for 26.
At drinks after 27 overs, the score had reached 127-3 and soon after Anuj Dal and Root posted a fifty stand from 69 balls, but that partnership was broken when Dal fell lbw to Lichon Jubair for 12.
Root was bowled around his legs by Jubair for 40 to leave Notts on 139-5 and that was 170-6 as Lyndon James was a Hossain Ebadot lbw victim for 9.
Tom Keast, who finished on 8 not out, joined Fraine, 31 not out, to carry the total to 195-6 from 37 overs at which point play was stopped for bad light and rain and subsequently abandoned.
