Notts Outlaws have been handed an injury boost as they prepare to face Derbyshire Falcons in the Royal London One-Day Cup on Tuesday (11am start).
Michael Lumb has recovered from the hand injury he sustained against Yorkshire to take his place in an unchanged 13-man squad.
With a duckworth/lewis defeat at Worcester having been followed by a heavy home reverse against the Vikings, Notts have little margin for error during the remainder of the tournament.
Head Coach Peter Moores admits that – with the Outlaws squeezing their remaining six group stage fixtures into a two-week period – the pressure is on for a rapid improvement.
“It’s not an ideal start to lose two in a row,” he said.
“You’ve just got to take it on the chin. Obviously, you can enjoy the wins together, but when you lose it’s the same thing.
“The way this tournament works, we’ve got three games between now and next Sunday. It comes thick and fast.
“We’ve just got to play better cricket - and fast - because the way the tournament works, we need to do it soon.
“We’ve got to train hard on Monday and we’ve got Derbyshire on Tuesday.
“If there’s things we can learn we’ll do it, but let’s not have a drama either.”
Brendan Taylor, who top-scored against Yorkshire with 60, says he feels in form ahead of Tuesday’s trip to the 3aaa County Ground.
“We were gutted with the performance against Yorkshire,” he said.
“To score 180 at Trent Bridge, you just never see those sorts of scores. We lost wickets at key stages and found it very hard to gain any sort of rhythm.
“I was a little disappointed to score 60 then get out with a few overs to go - but the longer I was in my rhythm was coming back, which is pleasing.
“It’s two defeats from two, so we’ve been thinking hard about how to get it right.
“Games are coming thick and fast. Hopefully we can turn it around.”
Notts Outlaws squad to face Derbyshre Falcons: Brendan Taylor, James Pattinson, Chris Read, Stuart Broad, Riki Wessels, Alex Hales, Harry Gurney, Luke Fletcher, Samit Patel, Greg Smith, Jake Ball, Michael Lumb and Billy Root.
