Nottinghamshire’s new signing Mark Footitt will get some match time when he plays for the Club’s Second XI in at least one of their two T20 fixtures against former side Derbyshire at Worksop College today (Monday).
The 31-year-old left-arm seamer rejoined the Trent Bridge staff last week – having come through the Club’s ranks as a youngster – after being released by Surrey.
As Footitt is available for Notts Outlaws’ NatWest T20 Blast home fixtures this weekend against Derbyshire Falcons (Friday, 6.30pm start) and Saturday (Saturday, 2.30pm), the Club were keen for him to get out in the middle as well as bowl in the nets.
“Mark has not played too much competitive cricket of late, so this is an ideal opportunity to get a game under his belt,” said Director of Cricket Mick Newell.
“He’s itching to get started, and this match with Derbyshire will help get him ready for the cricket to come.”
