A limited number of places are still available at the Trent Bridge Lunch, with guest speaker Dean Headley, on Friday 12 August.
The event, which will take place overlooking the field in Trent Bridge’s Derek Randall Suite, includes a two course lunch, coffee and the chance to hear the former Kent and England fast bowler recount his successful career in the 90s.
The grandson of the great West Indian batsman George Headley, Dean played 139 first-class matches, including 15 Test Matches for England.
Although his career was affected by injury, Headley’s record in matches for his country was impressive, taking 60 wickets at an average of 27.85.
His finest hour came in the Fourth Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 1998.
Defending just 175 to win, Australia were cruising at 103-2 when Mark Ramprakash’s diving catch at square-leg saw the back of Justin Langer.
It was Headley’s cue to rip through the old enemy’s middle-order, finishing with 6-60 as the tourists won a famous victory by 12 runs.
