"Monday’s NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final against the Essex Eagles is our biggest game of the year. It should be a great game of cricket and we’d love for it to be played in-front of a full house.

A couple of times for group games we’ve had crowds of 12,000 which is unheard of. The support has been fantastic.

As players we know, if the top tier of the Radcliffe Road Stand is filling up, there’s going to be a very big crowd, and we relish that support.

Steven Mullaney was stood at slip in the game against Yorkshire and he said: ‘crikey, there’s a few in tonight, top tier is open.’

It’s what we play for - big opportunities like this to showcase our skills in-front of lots of people.

It means a lot to us, and we’d love to see it filling up again ahead of Monday’s game.

It’s a massive game for us. A lot of people ask me about my best days in cricket and, without doubt, they are the times when we’ve won trophies.

I’ve been lucky enough to win the championship twice and the one-day trophy on one occasion, so to win the NatWest T20 Blast would make it a full house for me, and more importantly a full house for the Club.

We’re not having a great season in red ball cricket and we need to improve in that, but our focus right now is entirely on Monday.

Unfortunately, we’ve not qualified for the knockout stages of the 50 over competition, so this is realistically our only chance to win some silverware this year.

It’s a competition we’ve not won before so, from a personal point of view, it would be lovely to progress to finals day and on from there.

There’s three games to go if we are to achieve that, starting with the Eagles on Monday.

Get yourselves down to Trent Bridge, it looks like it will be quite the evening.

All the Best,

Chris Read, Club Captain
