Amassing 304 runs, 23 maximums and 14 fours, Dan Christian has been at his ferocious best as he helped the Outlaws finish top of the North Group in the NatWest T20 Blast.
The powerful Australian all-rounder, in his second summer with the Club and captain of the T20 side for 2016, has led from the front with the bat, amassing his runs off just 178 balls, at a strike rate of 170.78.
Christian’s ability to see the Outlaws over the finishing line on numerous occasions has also helped him secure an average of 50.66, which added together with his strike rate sums an eye-watering batting index of 221.44.
Often watchful at the beginning of his innings, the 33-year-old has time and time again shown how devastating he can be when he pushes the accelerator.
A feature of his run-making has been his ability to change the momentum in a match off just one over.
Against the Northamptonshire Steelbacks he took Mohammad Azharullah for 6,4,4 and Seekkuge Prasanna for 20 runs in one over, going 4,6,2,6,2, setting up an emphatic six-wicket victory with 56 off just 32 balls..
Add to that the demolition of Ateeq Javid (6,6,4) against Birmingham and Rob Sayer (6,6,6,6) verus Leicestershire and Christian has produced five match-winning knocks across the ten matches.
An unbeaten 53 off 39 against the Rapids at New Road condemned Worcestershire to defeat before he followed that up with 38* off just 24 as the Outlaws romped to victory over the Derbyshire Falcons.
He added 37 off 23 balls as he and Greg Smith downed the Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston before finishing off in style with 54* off 16 balls against the Leicestershire Foxes, joining Alex Hales with the fastest half century for Notts.
The Outlaws will hope that their captain can take that form into the knockout stages as they face Essex Eagles in the quarter-final.
