Peter Moores has left his position as England's Head Coach today, after Andrew Strauss was named as the ECB's Director of England Cricket.
Moores' second stint as Head Coach was ended following conversations with Strauss and ECB Chief Executive Tom Harrison.
“I will walk away knowing I’ve given my all to the role and always put the team at the front of any decision making," he said.
“I believe time will show that I have been instrumental in the identification and development of a new group of England players who will go on and bring honour and success to the England badge.
“My record in developing players stands for itself and though we have had some frustrations along the way I am confident that this team will go on and bring the success the supporters desperately want to see."
Moores' final match at the helm of the England team was their one-off One Day International against Ireland in Dublin, which was washed out after just 18 overs had been played. The side had been captained by Nottinghamhsire's James Taylor, one of the players who has flourished for the international side under Moores through the last nine months.
Paul Farbrace will take control of the England team for the upcoming Investec Test series against New Zealand, beginning on Thursday 21 May.
