Nottinghamshire Academy will continue their Premier League campaign, which has so far yielded a draw and a victory, away to Plumtree tomorrow.
Paul Franks’ men eased to a five-wicket victory over Kimberley last time out, taking them to second place in the early-season table, a point behind early leaders Caythorpe.
Plumtree occupy tenth place having so far picked up ten points, a losing draw and a no-result, from their two matches.
The Nottinghamshire squad features Ben Kitt’s return after he missed the Kimberley fixture through injury. Tom Moores comes in to keep wicket for the first time this season.
Notable players within the Plumtree ranks are a pair of former Nottinghamshire players in Matt Wood, who now works as the Club’s Player Pathway Development Officer, and Graeme White.
Australian fast-bowler Nathan Rimmington, who will feature as an overseas player for Derbyshire during this year’s NatWest T20 Blast, is also signed on with the Club.
“I was happy with the performance last week,” Paul Franks said. “The standard of the game was very high despite the weather and it was pleasing to get our first win.
“Although we won the game, there are always areas for improvement and one area I keep talking about is the fielding, where there have been flashes of brilliance, but also a number of basic errors.
“It might take a few weeks to get there, but we’re aspiring to put all three facets of our game together – batting, bowling and fielding – in one afternoon.”
