Jason Holder took 4-27 as West Indies eased to the brink of the ICC Cricket World Cup Quarter Finals with a six-wicket win over the United Arab Emirates.
The 23-year-old captain had three wickets within his first three overs, reducing Paul Franks' side to 17-3 en route to 175 all out, with Holder's new ball partner Jerome Taylor taking 3-36.
Johnson Charles and Jonathan Carter each scored half-centuries as the Test nation raced home with 19.3 overs to spare.
West Indies won the toss and elected to field at McLean Park in Napier and Holder's men would have been home and dry far earlier was it not for a 107 run stand, between Amjad Javed and Nasir Aziz, for the UAE's seventh wicket. Javed scored 56 off 99 balls and Aziz 60 off 99 deliveries, both career-best performances.
Dwayne Smith and Marlon Samuels both fell early to Manjula Guruge as the West Indies chased 177 to win. But Charles, who scored 55 off 40 balls with nine fours and two sixes, was by then already taking the game away from the associate nation.
A third-wicket stand of 56 with Carter took the West Indies beyond 100, before Charles became the first of Javed's two victims with 67 more needed for victory.
Andre Russell was caught and bowled by the UAE all-rounder nine runs later for seven. But Denesh Ramdin's unbeaten 33 helped Carter, whose 50 not out off 58 balls was his maiden One Day International half-century, ease the West Indies over the finish line.
The victory ensured that only a tie or no-result between Ireland and Pakistan could eliminate the West Indies from the competition.
