Nottinghamshire Seconds have it all to do on day three of their match against Warwickshire after the visitors wrestled back momentum with both bat and ball.

Nottinghamshire struck with the fourth ball for the second consecutive morning, Dan Freeman bowling Josh Poysden for 0 after no addition to the overnight total of 144-6.

Mark Adair added just eight before being trapped LBW by Hutton and when Lambert fell for 91 to Ben Kitt; the visitors’ resistance was all but over.

In the next over, Recordo Gordon was LBW to Hutton as the final total was 176 with Hannon-Dalby not out 1. Brett Hutton finished with 3-26 off 15.2 overs and Ben Kitt 3-29 off 13.

The Nottinghamshire reply came from Will Root and Anuj Dal but by the third over they were 8-3.

Root (0) was out first ball of the innings, Sam Wood caught behind for six and Dal bowled by Hannon-Dalby for one.

Adam Tillcock joined Brett Hutton but the latter fell to Hannon-Dalby, out lbw for 2 in the 5th over (19-4), Dan Freeman coming to the crease.

A fifth wicket fell before the interval, Tillcock LBW to Adair for 13 as the hosts went in to lunch on 42-5.

In the second session the score had reached 72 when Freeman (29) edged to McKay off Milnes bringing Charlie Lowen to the middle.

An injury to McKay in the 38th over meant Alex Mellor taking over the keeper’s duties and in the 46th Lowen (11) was lbw to Poysden (104-7).

Simon Webster joined Brown but in the 51st over Webster (0) was adjudged lbw to Sukhjit Singh (109-8), Ben Kitt next in but in the 56th he was stumped by Mellor for 15, Poysden the bowler (136-9) and last man Paul Franks joined Brown.

Dominic Brown completed his patient fifty off 140 balls in the 61st over but off last ball of the 65th he was lbw to Milnes, out for 53, the innings closing on 178, Oliver Hannon-Dalby finished with 3-15 off 10 overs and Tom Milnes 3-39 off 13 overs.

That meant the hosts took a lead of two runs with Franks not out 24 as tea was taken.

In the final session Warwickshire opened their second innings with Steve Leach and Alex Mellor with 25 overs left in the day.

It was the 24th before a wicket fell, Mellor (26) bowled by Adam Tillcock, the score 74-1 and Hannon-Dalby joined Leach (45*) to reach the close of play with a lead of 74, on 76-1.
