Not content with match figures of 10-195 on debut, 19-year-old Matt Carter is out to secure an extended run in the Nottinghamshire's first team, starting with Yorkshire on Monday.
The young off spinner shot in to the headlines when he took 7-56 in Somerset's first innings, the best figures on Championship debut by a spinner since 1938.
And now Carter is looking to kick on from his dream start and nail down a regular starting berth in the first team.
"I was definitely a dream come true the start I made against Somerset," he said.
"I went in to the game wanting to show that I could play at that level and was able to fit into the sort of environment you find yourself in when playing a high standard.
"With how I bowled, and the ten wickets I took across the two innings, I feel like I managed to show what I can do.
"I like to utilise my height when I am bowling as it gives me extra bounce and turn which makes it tough for the batsmen to score.
"Settling in to the dressing room went smoothly, the guys were brilliant in welcoming me and making me feel relaxed which allowed me to bowl how I did.
"Being with them in Barbados, on top of doing some 12th man duties made it easier to fit in during my first game as I had got to know the players."
With Headingley likely to offer less assistance than Taunton, Carter will have to work harder to dismiss batsmen and gain the haul that he got in his first game.
However, Carter believes the work he has done with Gary Keedy in the winter will stand him in good stead for the challenges ahead.
"Gary tweaked something in my technique over the winter which means I now come over the ball more generating more turn and bounce," he said.
"It was great to work with someone of his pedigree over the winter and it has really helped my game.
"On top of that, all the minor counties I played with Lincolnshire has put me in a great position because I must have played 14 or 15 three-day games for them.
"Hopefully the performance at Taunton will give me another chance to see what I can do against a dangerous Yorkshire side sitting third in the table.
"It usually doesn't turn much up there so we will be changing our tactics and if we can get a win it would be massive for us.
"If I am in a situation where it isn't turning I will look to tighten my line up so they can't score square of the wicket without working it off the stumps, limiting their options to hitting back past me."
