Connor Marshall has written his name in to Nottinghamshire record books, becoming the only age group cricketer for the county to score a double hundred.
Marshall was captaining the Nottinghamshire U17s against Lincolnshire when he came to the crease at 17-1 before scoring 206 off 219 balls, including 29 fours.
The 17-year-old then followed that with half centuries for the Academy in the Nottinghamshire Premier League and for the Seconds against Worcestershire in the Second Eleven Trophy.
“Obviously I am very proud of what I achieved and to get that kind of score marked a fantastic day for me,” Marshall said before lining up for the Seconds against Somerset.
“To be able to do something like that and write myself in to the record books for Nottinghamshire is very special.
“I didn’t expect to make a score like that but now it is about practicing as hard as possible and taking the opportunities when they come for the Seconds.
“For me, Tom (Keast) and Tim (Wyatt) to all be in squads for the Seconds is great exposure for us and will provide us with great experience.
“Huge challenges lie ahead but the likes of Luke Wood and Matt Carter are shining examples as to what you can achieve if you put the effort in.”
Notts Outlaws will next be in action with the return of 50-over cricket for the Royal London One Day competition throughout July and August starting with a weekend at Welbeck Cricket Club. Don't miss out on the next step of our summer of cricket and secure your seats now.
