Simon Walton and Adam Tillcock each took three wickets for Nottinghamshire Academy against an experienced Plumtree line-up, only for the Notts youngsters to fall to defeat by 135 runs.
A visiting line-up including Australian fast bowler Nathan Rimmington alongside the former Notts duo of Graeme White and Matt Wood were all out for 232 at the Notts Sports Club, only for the home side to collapse to 97 all out in response.
Pluntree won the toss and elected to bat before openers Hassan Azad and Sam Storey posted 68 for the first wicket, a stand that was finally broken by a catch at the wicket from Tom Keast, handing left-arm spinner Tillcock the first of his dismissals.
Ben Storey took the score to 101 alongside his brother before edging Connor Marshall behind for 18, one over before Sam reached a 94-ball half-century.
Tillcock removed Joseph Tetley for 12 and Sam Storey for 69 in quick succession to complete his three wicket haul for 43, bringing together Rimmington and Wood with Plumtree 150-4.
Rimmington scored 20 prior to be being caught at mid-on by Paul Franks, off the bowling of Simon Walton, who quickly added the wicket of White, clean bowled for four.
Simon Webster had Bobby Gamble caught on the midwicket boundary for eight and Walton completed figures of 3-43 by having Paul White caught behind for a duck.
Wood, however, remained steadfast and aggressive at the other end, passing 50 in 43 balls with six fours and a six before he was last man out, bowled by Webster for 59, Plumtree all out for 232.
Nottinghamshire’s reply immediately hit the rocks as Rimmington accounted for Jake Libby and Joe New with just 17 runs on the board.
Tillcock joined New at the crease and took the score past 50 before lobbing Gamble to mid-on. And, as the run out of Anuj Dal for nine was closely followed by both Moores (25) and Franks (3) nicking Matt Milnes behind, the Academy were in deep trouble at 78-6.
And as Marshall and Keast were dismissed by the wily off-spin of White, followed by Kitt and Walton both clean bowled by Milnes who finished with 4-21, the Academy succumbed to a comprehensive defeat.
