After five wins out of a possible six to finish top of Group B in the Royal London One-Day Cup, Notts Outlaws captain James Taylor believes his side are in 'good head space' and 'great form' ahead of their home quarter-final against Durham.

The Outlaws are on a run of one defeat in 12 matches in all competitions, including ten victories, ahead of the last eight tie - and Taylor is also taking confidence from a pair of white ball victories over the north easterners already this season.

“We are playing exceptional cricket at the moment and we have good form against Durham so far this season, so hopefully we can carry that into next week,” he said.

“We played brilliantly at their place in the T20 and came away with a good result, so hopefully we can continue that white ball form in front of a big crowd at Trent Bridge on Tuesday.

“Durham will be a tough task as they have got some great players, but so do we are we are in a fine patch of form at the minute that we are determined to continue.

“We were excellent last year in the quarter-finals and we will be looking to emulate that this time around.”

Taylor believes depth and adaptability within a batting line-up featuring four seperate tournament centurions could hold the key for the Outlaws on Tuesday; a successful promotion to number three for Dan Christian against Hampshire providing the case in point.

"There are lots of positives from the batting performance against Hampshire, not least Dan Christian going up the order and providing a breathe of fresh air," said Taylor.

"He wacked it around everywhere and it helps show how many different options we have in the batting line up.

"We can put people in different positions and they will still perform their individual roles to benefit the team.

"Dan going up the order on that occasion was due to the weather. We thought it was best for him to go in and take the game to them from ball one, which is exactly what he did.

"With both bat and ball he is a proven international cricketer, and he has proven it over a number of matches here.

"The team is in great form in all different aspects of the game and we are in a good head space heading in to next week."
