Ben Kitt took 5-21 as a youthful Nottinghamshire Second XI took control on the opening day of their Second XI Championship fixture against Yorkshire at Stamford Bridge.
The Academy paceman’s five wickets included the prized scalp of Australia international big-hitter Aaron Finch as the home side collapsed from 103-5 to 106 all out.
Notts closed on 65 without loss in reply, Jake Libby having played the suppporting role for 12 while Greg Smith accelerated to a 52 ball half-century.
Will Gidman already had the first of his two wickets for 32 in the bag by the time Kitt clean bowled Mossut Hussain to leave the home side reeling on 6-2.
Finch, on his return from injury, counter-attacked to pass 50 in 76 balls with three fours and a six.
One wicket apiece for Simon Walton, Matthew Carter and Adam Tillcock, leaving Yorkshire five down at lunch and - after the interval - Kitt began the dramatic collapse by trapping Finch lbw for 60.
Jordan Thompson was caught by Gidman for eight, handing 20-year-old Kitt his fourth dismissal, and the former Gloucestershire all-rounder then had Josh Shaw caught behind for one.
Kitt completed his five-fer - and concluded the Yorkshire innings - by trapping Jarod Warner lbw.
It took Smith just ten overs of the Nottinghamshire reply to read his half-century, including eight fours, before rain brought an early finish.
