Nottinghamshire’s second XI continued their dominance on day two of the match with Loughborough MCCU, closing the day with a lead of 234.
Loughborough resumed on an overnight total of 40-3 from 16 overs, Matthew Stiddard not out on 14 and Robert Sehmi on nine.
The home side had progressed to 95 before Luke Wood (4-40) took the first wicket of the morning dismissing Sehmi for 35, caught behind by Tom Keast.
Keast was in action again soon after, Brett Hutton having Shelvin Gumbs caught behind for three, the score moving to 102-5.
Tim LeBreton joined Stiddard to guide the latter to his fifty, ending on 61* with lunch taken with the score on 134-5.
Stiddard was the next wicket to fall though, run out from brilliant piece of work from Connor Marshall for 69.
Aitizaz Khan replaced him and scored a rapid 40 from just 21 balls before being caught by Keast off Dan Freeman to reduce the home side to 194-7.
Hamzah Khan (1) and Matthew White (4) went in consecutive overs to Matt Carter, nine wickets down before the 200 mark had been breached.
LeBreton was still unmoved from the start of the session and he completed his fifty in the 51st over.
However, he was the last man to fall for 55, Simon Webster the wicket taker as the hosts fell to 245 all out, a deficit of 73 runs in the first innings.
With 41 overs left in the day, Notts looked to push on but first had to negotiate a tricke five over peiord before tea, Joe New and Dan Freeman doing just that to take the score to 18-0.
The latter did not last long after the interval though, caught off Lewis Bramley after the score had reached 30-1.
Sam Wood had made 32 before falling to a catch at point off Matt White's bowling, bringing Brett Hutton to the crease with the score on 81.
New was another batsman who got a start but failed to kick on, trapped LBW to Aitizaz Khan for 44 after the score had passed 150.
Adam Tillcock joined Hutton and the pair reached the close posting a score of 161-3, a lead of 234 runs, with Hutton on 45* and Tillcock on 5*.
