Notts 167-4 lost to Derbyshire by 8wkts

Notts suffered a double defeat when the second eleven visited the County Ground at Derby to play two Twenty20 matches on Friday.

The batsmen played well in both matches compiling identical scores.

Against Lancashire Mitchell Gowland, an English-qualified Australian playing for Radcliffe -on -Trent this season impressed after Akhil Patel and Neil Edwards had fallen cheaply. He hit a superb 93 from just 63 balls with nine fours and four huge sixes.

Richard Stroh from Cuckney scored 43 in a stand of 120 with Gowland, the latter being dismissed with two balls of the innings remaining.

Brown (60) and Agathagelou (59) were the main scorers as the visitors won with two balls to spare but in truth the Notts bowlers were not at their best as they failed to defend a reasonable total on a used pitch.

In the game against Derbyshire Neil Edwards found form with 67 from just 34 balls with 46 from boundary shots with Akhil Patel and Scott Elstone scoring 29 apiece.

However once again the Notts bowling was not up to scratch, along with the fielding also being below par, as Derby knocked off the runs in 17.4 overs.
