Second Eleven Manager Wayne Noon plans to give wicket keeper Greg Wood an extended trial with Nottinghamshire.
Wood, who is included in the squad for the Second Eleven Championship game against Warwickshire beginning today at Welbeck, has performed well so far and will be given further chances to impress in games against Worcestershire later this month.
“He’ll play for us throughout July and we’ll assess how he’s got on at the end of it,” said Noon.
“I’ve wanted to work with a young wicket keeper for a while now and it’s definitely an area we’re looking at.”
First team openers Bilal Shafayat, Matt Wood and Will Jefferson are also included in the squad to face Warwickshire with Andy Carter and Mark Footitt spearheading the bowling attack.
