India clinched the One Day Series against England with a rain affected 19-run win in Bangalore.
Notts trio Graeme Swann, Samit Patel and Stuart Broad, who dismissed returning India star Sachin Tendulkar, all batted as England came up short chasing a Duckworth-Lewis target of 198 from 22 overs.
Owais Shah hit 72 from 48 balls and Andrew Flintoff managed 41 from 30 but England find themselves facing an unassailable 4-0 deficit with three to play.
"The boys gave it a good run. Shah batted well and Freddie helped out with good contributions," said England Captain Kevin Pietersen.
"I'm disappointed but we've just got to take this on the chin and bounce back."
"We want to make sure this series stays as competitive as possible.
"We're going to hold our heads up high and get on with trying to win some games of cricket."
